Studio Stockholm designs Gavlegårdarna’s new office
Gavlegårdarna is Gävle’s public residential housing company, which is occupied by 30 000 tenants and 200 employees. FastPartner, who will become Gavlegårdarna’s new landlord, has hired Studio Stockholm to help Gavlegårdarna throughout the change process of creating an activity-based work environment. The design concept is based on Gavlegårdarna’s vision: “Feel at home”. The design will consequently have a clear at-home-feeling with established values.
“We have collaborated well with FastPartner and their prospective tenant. It is very interesting that a public housing company is thinking strategically about how to work and have consequently chosen an activity-based approach. Gavlegårdarna is a brave company that dares to take a step towards a smarter workplace and the future”, says Boel Allende, project manager at Studio Stockholm Arkitektur.
The project is an example of how Studio Stockholm Arkitektur works with an entire process for companies wishing to develop an activity-based approach.
“For us, this move is about so much more than new premises. The new work environment is just one of several tools in our comprehensive business development. It is something we recognised when we first started thinking about how we need to work and how we wish to meet our tenants in the future. The job is not about where you do it but how you do it”, says Cathrine Holgersson, Managing Director of Gavlegårdarna.
The new head office is 6 000 square meters and can accommodate an exhibition space, offices, a gym and a garage. The address is Utanvindsvägen 1 in Hemsta and occupancy will take place September 21, 2015.
