Studio Stockholm Arkitektur responsible for office development in prestigious Sturekvarteret
Visualisering Sweco Architects
Studio Stockholm Arkitektur has been awarded the contract to develop 21,000 sqm of office space in the new Sturekvarteret district. “The site’s history, location, and brand make this a unique project, both locally and nationally. Therefore, our ambition is to create a new point of reference in the Swedish office market, with a focus on quality and sustainability” says Alessandro Cardinale, partner at Studio Stockholm.
The local plan for the Sture project was approved during the spring, and work began to accelerate in the block. As part of this, Studio Stockholm has been awarded the contract to develop the office space in the properties located at Birger Jarlsgatan 18 (Marmorhallarna), Stureplan 4, and Grev Turegatan 3-5 (Ostermans), on top of Sturegallerian. The assignment includes strategy and concept development for approximately 21,000 sqm of office space, divided into about 16,000 sqm of new construction and about 5,000 sqm of refurbishment, to be completed in 2026.
– This is a project that fits Studio Stockholm’s project portfolio. It is a large-scale, complex transformation project with high ambitions and within the scope of our specialist areas – commercial development. We are therefore very excited to contribute to the realization of the vision of the new Sturekvarteret, says Alessandro Cardinale.
– For the Sture project, we have chosen partners we know are industry leaders. Studio Stockholm is at the forefront of concept development, office development, and complex transformation projects, so we feel confident that they will create a unique office product for Sturekvarteret, says Carl Johansson, Head of Office Development and Leasing at TAM.
