Challenge

  • NetEnt needed a new office in Stockholm to strengthen its brand and make them a more attractive employer for the industry’s best game developers. The company works with “Business to Business” games and therefore was not always first in mind among game developers.
  • The company had grown rapidly and needed a lot of space to expand. The existing premises were too small and dark.
  • The interior concept had to function globally and be applied to all of NetEnt’s global offices.
  • There was a need for a better working environment and an increase in social community. With the help of the office, we wanted to create a common culture where all the departments of the organisation could feel fellowship and pride.
  • A limited budget and a requirement for smart, economical solutions that would work in all countries.
  • A request to be able to visualise the company’s unique creativity and game characters within the premises.

Process

  • Strategic analytical work for mapping employees’ work assignments, personalities and values.
  • Help with evaluating the potential new premises to find a new appropriate office.
  • Create a clear and vibrant concept that highlights the brand’s identity and creative process. The games characters playing a central role in the interior and the company’s graphical “Betlines” integrated into the lines of the floor, lighting and furniture.
  • An open plan solution with large common workspaces, many meeting rooms and common areas for spontaneous meetings and creative discussions.
  • Create effective workstations where game developers can work in a group.

Result

  • An office with a strong brand profile at a popular address in the middle of the city.
  • Increased positive brand awareness among developers. The office has made NetEnt a more attractive employer facilitating recruitment.
  • A remarkable increase in well-being and pride amongst the staff. In addition, the interaction between the different departments has increased significantly.
  • Measurably increased productivity and turnover thanks to a new flexible and dynamic way of working with floating teams. The workflow has now been streamlines and the pace of game development has increased.
  • A global design concept which has now been applied to NetEnt’s offices in Gothenburg, Krakow, Gibraltar and Malta.
